Cubs Quick Hits: Rizzo’s Great May Stats
Anthony Rizzo started the season by putting up a .219 wOBA through April. But no one really worried that the Captain would continue to underperform. I think this might’ve been the calmest Cubs Twitter has ever been when a player is slumping.
And there’s a reason why no one worried about Big Tony. In May, Rizzo walked at a 16 percent clip, only struck out in 8 percent of his plate appearances, smacked seven homers, batted .293, and ended the month with a .402 wOBA. It was only a matter of time.
